Jeanny Lee, Esq.

Jeanny K. Lee is a Senior Associate at For Purpose Law Group, where she serves as a strategic advisor to nonprofit organizations and mission-driven businesses on corporate, tax, governance, and compliance matters. She partners closely with founders, executive teams, and boards to build strong legal infrastructure, manage risk, and support sustainable, mission-aligned growth.

Jeanny brings deep experience guiding nonprofits through the full lifecycle of tax-exempt status—from formation and IRS recognition to ongoing compliance and governance best practices. She regularly advises on complex operational and organizational issues, and drafts and negotiates contracts, memoranda of understanding, and strategic partnership agreements, including those involving cross-border activities and global programs.

Prior to joining FPLG, Jeanny served as General Counsel to an international nonprofit organization combating human trafficking in South Asia. In that role, she led all legal, governance, and compliance functions, advising executive leadership and the board on organizational strategy, risk management, and global operations. Her in-house leadership experience allows her to provide practical, business-minded counsel that aligns legal strategy with real-world organizational needs.

Jeanny earned her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center and a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Harvard University. She is admitted to practice in New York, Washington, D.C., and Maryland.
