Emma Tisdale is an Associate Attorney at For Purpose Law Group, where she advises nonprofit organizations and other tax-exempt entities on the legal foundations that keep missions moving forward. Her practice spans formation, governance, compliance, and transactional support—delivered with precision, responsiveness, and a deep understanding of the nonprofit sector’s unique needs.

Emma is licensed in both Virginia and North Carolina and brings a thoughtful, solutions-driven approach to each client engagement. Before joining FPLG, she served as an associate at McCormick Law & Consulting, where she advised mission-driven clients on operational oversight, regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, and intellectual property matters.

Earlier in her career, Emma worked as a staff attorney with Legal Aid of North Carolina, where she advocated for low-income clients in cases involving housing, domestic violence, and consumer protection. That experience sharpened her sense of justice and strengthened her commitment to work that centers community well-being and equity.

At FPLG, Emma is known for her meticulous legal mind, her collaborative spirit, and her deep belief in the power of nonprofits to drive lasting change. She brings both legal acumen and human-centered care to every client she serves.

When she’s off the clock, you’ll find Emma exploring the coastline of Virginia with her family, soaking up the outdoors and recharging her creative energy.

Emily Little to Join Panel at 2025 National Adaptive Leadership Summit

Emily Little, Senior Counsel at For Purpose Law Group (FPLG), will serve as a panelist at the 2025 National Adaptive Leadership Summit, hosted by the National Family Support Network, taking place May 20–22, 2025, in Washington, D.C. Ms. Little will contribute to the session titled “Nonprofit Legal Crossroads: Navigating Risk, Compliance, and Mission,” a facilitated conversation exploring the legal and governance challenges that arise at the intersection of mission-driven leadership and regulatory compliance. The panel will address key issues such as fiduciary responsibilities, risk mitigation, and adaptive legal strategies for nonprofit organizations operating in complex and evolving environments. With extensive experience advising tax-exempt organizations on governance, compliance, and organizational development, Ms. Little brings a pragmatic and solutions-oriented legal perspective to the discussion.
