Carol Sonnenberg is the Managing Director of For Purpose Accounting and a CPA who brings deep nonprofit financial expertise to the leaders we serve—accounting, tax-minded compliance, and CFO-level strategy included. She helps organizations get out of the weeds and into a financial rhythm that actually supports the mission: clean books, clear reporting, and systems that don’t fall apart the moment things get busy.

Carol is especially known for building efficient, modern (web-based) accounting systems and delivering meaningful financial reports that leaders can use to make real decisions (not just file things away). She also provides fractional CFO support, partnering closely with decision-makers from start-up phase through established operations—tightening processes, strengthening financial operations, and bringing more clarity to the day-to-day.

She’s also deeply values-driven in her work, with a long-standing commitment to community impact, including advocacy for youth programs and individuals with disabilities.
