Carson P. Baucher (he/him) serves as Senior Counsel within FPLG’s Litigation and Nonprofit & Tax Exempt Organization Practice Groups, in the San Diego office. He holds a J.D. from New York University School of Law, and a B.A. from University of California, Berkeley.
Mr. Baucher has significant experience advising clients on a wide range of legal matters, including employment law, board governance, operations, and contract negotiations. He also litigates on behalf of corporations and individuals matters in federal and state court across multiple practice areas, with a specialty in business litigation. Mr. Baucher is a seasoned advisor and an aggressive litigator with a track record for achieving success for his clients. He has considerable courtroom experience, having taken many cases all the way through jury trial and on appeal. Mr. Baucher has written and argued numerous dispositive motions in federal and state court and has personally argued before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Baucher began his career as a trial attorney with Federal Defenders of San Diego, Inc. where he helped expand the office’s renowned training curriculum and supervised new trial attorneys. He has served as an instructor in the areas of defensive litigation and courtroom trial skills. He then expanded his practice into civil litigation at Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP where he enjoyed significant success on a wide array of civil litigation matters.
Mr. Baucher also has a long track record of community involvement. In addition to his years of representing indigent defendants in federal and state court, he volunteers with local pro bono organizations and has given lectures on legal topics relevant to nonprofit leaders.
Mr. Baucher is a member of the Tom Homann LGBT Law Association of San Diego and recently served on the Leadership Development Committee for the San Diego chapter of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers. In his free time, Carson enjoys cooking and international backpacking.
